Our Mission
Kids Are People Too, LLC was established in 2000. We are dedicated to providing exceptional pediatric outpatient physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and lactation services. We believe in a holistic approach to helping children develop skills and overcome challenges as well as support families. We are excited to bring out the "play" in therapy.

At Kids Are People Too,LLC, we specialize in treating a variety of conditions, including children who have been diagnosed with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Spinabifida, ADHD, Delayed Milestones, FAS/FASD, Torticollis, Clubfoot, Dual Sensory Impairment,ODD, PTSD, Down's Syndrome, Anxiety, Hypotonia, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, EDS, Feeding and Lactation Difficulties and other Developmental/Congenatal disabilites. Our team of therapists have extensive experience working with patients of many ages and backgrounds.
Services our team provides
- Physical Therapy: Working with children and their families to promoat age appropriate skills and development through play. Using holistic approaches and education. Improve coordination,strength, range of motion, sensory motor and gross motor skills.
- Occupational Therapy: Helping kids of all ages to reach age appropriae developmental milestones through play. Our trained professionals will also help develop your child's fine and gross motor skills, coordination, socio-emotional, sensory processing and executive funcitioning skills.
- Speech Therapy: Specialized in treating children experiencing language deficits including articulation, fluency and receptive and expressive language disorders. SLP's can also address oral motor challenges, feeding and swallowing difficulties as well as utilize Augmentative and Alternative communication devices.
- Lactation Support: Our IBCLC addresses breastfeeding challenges from both mom and baby's perspectives. Supporting the dyad and family.
Our facilities
We are excited to share our new location. We have a family friendly building designed to be creative and a fun place. Our therapists use Therapeutic Listening, Interactive Metronome, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Outdoor play, Vestibular activities, Sensory Modulation techniques, Play based therapy just to name a few.

Gabbie is the Office Manager for our pediatric therapy team. She oversees scheduling, billing, and insurance verifications, ensuring families receive timely and accurate support.
Gabbie brings nearly a decade of administrative experience across healthcare and nonprofit organizations. This experience allows her to manage office functions and foster efficiency and accuracy in day-to-day operations.
When she's not at work, Gabbie enjoys exploring the outdoors, hiking Alaska's beautiful trails, and spending time with her two children, Owen and Wendy, and their cat, Larry.

Karen is a special needs mom and the clinic owner. She has been a practioner for many years. She earned her masters in physical therapy from the Univeristy of the Pacific and has done clinical training in pediatrics, women's health, geriatric care and orthopedics. She has many tools in her toolbox that she pulls from when helping children. Her passion is evident. She became an IBCLC, 6 years ago and also is on the board of the Alaska Breastfeeding Coalition. She has unique skills when supporting new moms.

Hannah was born and raised in the great state of Alaska. She attended the University of Alaska Anchorage where she received her B.S. in Health Sciences with a minor in Psychology prior to completing her Doctorate of Occupational Therapy at Creighton University. She has been working at KAPT officially since 2022 however was a student at KAPT before that. Out of work, Hannah is kept busy with her two dogs, Hank and Darla, as well as her new addition Cohen- camping, hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors.

Michael obtained his maters degree in Communocation Disorders from William Paterson Univ. of NJ in 2018. Listening to Michael's interactions with the children is so fun. He shows patiecne and kindess when helping children achieve goals. Michael learning and has become a Cerified Autism Specialist. Michael shares his non work time with his wife and beautiful daughter.

Lindsey comes to us from Minesota. She recieved her DPT from Univ. of North Dakota. Lindsey is excited to learn about pediatrics and brings energy and greast ideas to the team. Lindsey is getting to know Alaska. She enjoys rockclimbing, hiking and travel.

Caroline is a lifelong Alaskan. She graduated with her COTA from Bates Technical College. She has a strong passion for supporting children and their families.Caroline is very creative in her approach to meeting children where they are. She has become a special part of our team. When not working she enjoys time with her family and enjoying Alaska.
